My NaNoWriMo characters are being uncooperative. Every time I steer them towards the next plot point, they keep doing stupid things like confronting the person who's following them and making their lives more tricky.

If I ever edit this to try and make it better, I think the most important thing will be making my two main female characters' voices much more different. At the moment, Sarah's meant to be the more cynical one, but also the less easily cowed, while Lucky is quieter but an optimist and somehow finds herself having to do the talking a lot because, well, she knows more about the world they're in. It's not quite coming across yet.

But then, this is trashy self-indulgence writing, so screw it, I don't care. I'm still loving it.

This is a week of crazy catch-up writing for NaNoWriMo. I have just introduced a character with an obsession with all things vampiric who constantly speaks in a bad fake Transylvanian accent. Called Simon.

Inspire me. Leave comments utilising such an accent. The more outrageous and ridiculous the better.

OA was fun! It's been over a year since I played Chase, and she was surprisingly fun and easy to get back into. I'm still not too sure about the white face thing, though, and need to fix a few other bits of kit. I think next time I'm just going to use the Snazz on my face, along with the new make up I intend to get.

Also learned why I thought my magic was so ineffective - turns out it's 5secs casting time per mana the spell costs, not 10secs. So I spent the whole day thinking my ranged double took 30 seconds to cast, and funnily enough, in most fights after thirty seconds of casting most of it's over.

The hallucination thing got me an extra unexpected bit of background, too. Just a small thing, but a nice little flavour, and let me realise what Chase's biggest fear is.

Or, y'know, anyone who happens to have a compatible phone.

My phone is buggered. Utterly. Now, I'm going to sort this problem out partially by moving onto a better contract - however, cancelling my current one means handing the old handset in and stuff. My only problem with this is that I have loads of photos and videos on my phone's memory stick that I'd like to keep, but because the touchscreen bits have stopped working, I can't connect it to my computer.

Does anyone have a phone, or some other reader thingy, that can let me get these files off the shiny phone and onto the shiny computer?

The phone in question is a Sony Ericsson K850i and it takes Memory Stick Micro (M2). Apparently.

About forty minutes ago, I opened Firefox to look something up quickly.

Thanks to Google, I ended up spending the next forty minutes looking at clips of celebrity guests on Sesame Street.

This was not productive time.

Although very entertaining.

I suck at this, evidently! I'm going to be a wimp and do the two easier ones first, leaving only our esteemed President's request to work up to.

I swear, the second I get money I'm sorting this bloody phone out.

You know, once upon a time, I'd write up one of these after pretty much every session. Sometimes were longer than others, but just my feelings and thoughts about how it's going, and Eve's take on certain situations. Given this is the last year of the current administration, I figure it could use a little documenting.

After three days of not writing, mostly through being too busy, I finally got my act on yesterday and pushed to over 9,000 words. Today I've just passed 10,000. Lots of catching up to do, most definitely, but I'm getting there.

Hopefully VIP is going to inspire me a little, as I'm starting to head out of planned territory into the vague.

First of all, if there was anything people needed of me, email me or something, my memory sucks.

Second of all, my downtime, while so far not too long, is full of crazy. I suspect that's pretty standard for Ynfyd, but seriously, I don't *plan* this stuff. I start writing it, and then Eve happily tells me what she's been up to.

Day four. Verdana size 10 is driving me nuts. I'll have to change it soon. Feel free to nominate a font. Writing so much in word has me pressing Ctrl+S every two minutes.

I just entirely accidentally gave my protagonist what could well be a fairly serious facial scar in the first chapter. Oops.

And it turned out a walk and some food made her feel a lot better.

Even so, the shadowy one in the corner is following her today, and whispering in her ear. Above them both the burning one keeps bickering. It's a noisy day.

NaNoWriMo day one: currently using Verdana size 10. Not yet being driven to madness by it.

A week or so ago I wrote an epic entry that I then didn't post publicly. This happens a lot. However, I just wanted to take one little bit of it and share it with everyone, because it makes me smile, and I suspect it may make some of my friends smile too.

Depression is nothing people can fight for you. They can be kind and hold your hand, and say nice things. But at the end of the day, there's only one person in your mind to really fight back, and that's you. You are tank, healer and DPS. The best your friends and family can really do is given your awesome buffs. Buff tea, I think is my new phrase for crisis tea. They can offer reassurance and be nearby to hold your hand, and increase your mana pool, but the point where you have to keep going is an internal one. There's no mind control just yet in our world. It's down to you.

It's down to me.

So many, if not all, of the characters we play are good men and women at heart. But in another world, where something went wrong, they become nightmares.

What's their story?

I’ve chosen to do a few dead ones as well as some happy live ones. Hope people enjoy! Incidentally, I’m not doing *all* my WoW characters, unless you really, really want to hear them. There are other characters missing from the list because I wasn’t too sure how to do them, but again, if you really, really want me to, poke the missing name.
I find it amusing the Violet was harder to do than Ember, and Lila harder to do than Bramble. Juliana was really, really hard.

For halloween!

If anyone has a crop top with long sleeves, preferably red, even more ideal if it has one of those rhombus-shaped necklines (point at the centre) that I could possibly borrow for halloween, I would be very, very grateful.

Damn it, crop tops were such a 90s thing.

So, the costume is not going to turn up in time for halloween. Which means I need an alternative. I've got a few ideas, I'll just have to have a poke around. Last minute as ever.

Still, I'm sure the eyes of the general public will be grateful. ;)

I may inflict it on you next year instead, or something.
